Restoring an HCEF Learning Center/Resource Library

A Work in Progress

The room really needs brightening. A fun, blue, underwater theme - courtesy of volunteer and aspiring interior designer Kristen Cario - will surely do the trick.

The room won't paint itself of course - but as happens so often with friends of HCEF - volunteers have offered their services. These volunteers are from St. Stephens Fellows, and they're committed to doing all that is necessary to make this room a "happy happening place."

The new shelves are ready to carry their load, and Krystle has led a massive effort to organize and color code the BTI library.

Colleen Mertz (our afterschool instructor), Donna Harshman (caseworker at BTI), Anna and Delaina (HCEF interns) are helping make the Learning Center program inviting and fun for the children, and the new look and feel of the space can't help but encourage and energize both adults and their students.

Come on in, children:
to learn, to explore, to play.
This is indeed a happening place.
And it was created with you in mind.
