More often than not there is no ideal space in which to construct a Learning Center. The very first one, created in 2000, was in a converted, window-less storage room. More precisely, perhaps, a long but narrow closet.
But the space is workable and the unpacking and assembling of computers begins.
Can't go much further until we've assembled the desks and cleared out empty packing boxes.
Nearly done. Just the final clean-up.
And we're open for business. It's not fancy and not particularly high-tech, but its the pride and joy of this facility where for the first time resident moms and their children have "at home" access to the Internet for homework, job searches, and resources for every need and every interest.
