HCEF Wins Ted Craig Humanitarian Award from Women’s Center and Shelter

On May 4, HCEF was honored with the Ted Craig Humanitarian Award at the Women’s Center & Shelter Celebrating Survivors benefit dinner. HCEF was recognized because of our continued work with the women and families served by Women’s Center and Shelter.

Women’s Center and Shelter is an emergency shelter for women that provides specialized care and support for women who have experienced all types of intimate partner violence. For the past 10 years, HCEF has provided mini grants, funding for field trips, after school tutoring and programming, enrichment programming, and school supplies to the children and youth served by Women’s Center and Shelter.

Executive Director Carlos T. Carter and staff Angelica Perry, Manager of Development, and Kaitlyn Nykwest, Director of Educational Programs, were in attendance to receive the award on behalf of HCEF and our team of partners and collaborators who make our work with Women’s Center & Shelter possible.

Women’s Center and Shelter is an integral partner in HCEF’s work in Allegheny County. Because of their work uplifting women and families, HCEF is able to provide critical educational supports to children experiencing housing instability. We continue to be grateful for our partnership with Women’s Center and Shelter and look forward to another 10 years of programming and impact in Pittsburgh!
